Diablo 4 Season 14 Starter Guide: Full Class Ranking from Worst to Best | Save Your Time!

Diablo 4 Season 14 will arrive on June 30, and it's rumored that all classes will be nerfed. In this situation, which classes and builds should we choose for early game progression? This guide will tell you everything.

The highly anticipated Diablo 4 Season of Death Awakening will officially launch on June 30th at 10:00 AM PDT. With changes to Mythic items and the introduction of new modes, you'll need to re-explore new powerful classes and builds. To help you save time on trial and error, today I've compiled the strength of 8 classes in the new season and their corresponding builds, presented in order from weakest to strongest. Let's take a look!

No.8 Paladin

Diablo 4 Season 14 Starter Guide: Full Class Ranking from Worst to Best | Save Your Time!

According to 3.1.0 PTR test results, Paladin occupies a rather awkward position among all classes. Whether in Pit or Tower, Paladin has the lowest completion rate at high levels. Of course, this doesn't mean Paladin is the weakest in all content - it might simply be because fewer players are playing Paladin on the 3.1.0 PTR.

In terms of build selection, Blessed Hammer Paladin remains the most stable and reliable choice, with very comfortable controls. Clash and Shield Throw, which shone brightly in Season 13, appear to have been nerfed in the new season and are no longer top-tier choices. Furthermore, zeal-related builds are now worth watching, as developers have attempted to buff these builds on PTR, and further adjustments are likely upon release.

Overall, Paladin is currently a relatively weak class, and the fixes to the resolve mechanic in Diablo 4 have also impacted its survivability. Therefore, if you choose Paladin for progression, you may need to invest more resources than other classes to compensate for the strength gap - in this case, strategically allocating your Diablo 4 gold for key equipment trading will be more efficient than blindly farming materials.

No.7 Warlock

Warlock's situation in Diablo 4 was already less than ideal last season, with low-level Pit and Tower clear records. The strongest Warlock build in Season 13 was Apocalypse,

However, Apocalypse has now been significantly nerfed. Instead, Command Fallen combined with Lunatic has become the best-performing Warlock build on PTR. Therefore, in the new season, we can only use the second strongest build from Season 13.

Furthermore, the build around Terror Swarm still has potential, as it received some buffs in 3.1.0 PTR. If it receives more buffs before the official release, it may become a new option. Currently, Command Fallen Lunatic build is the only confirmed option to stand at the top of Warlock; everything else depends on the final adjustments in Season 14.

No.6 Necromancer

Necromancer also had a somewhat difficult time on the previous PTR. Incredibly, the strongest build is still Blood Wave.

It's worth mentioning that minion builds - whether general-purpose minions or Golem-centric minion builds - should perform well in Season 14. But Blood Wave is Necromancer's ceiling, although this ceiling is significantly lower than in Season 13.

On the PTR, Blood Wave still cleared Tier 128, so Necromancer hasn't been significantly nerfed. A more accurate description is: the overall strength of all classes has decreased compared to Season 13. For Diablo 4 Necromancer players, you'll likely be using almost the same build as last season, just with significantly lower damage.

No.5 Spiritborn

The situation is similar for Spiritborn. The strongest build in Diablo 4 Season 14 remains the same as in Season 13 - Pestilent Swarm Evade, paired with Ring of Writhing Moon. This combination allows pestilent swarms to rotate around the character, dealing continuous damage as they move across the battlefield. This should still be the mainstream playstyle for Spiritborn in high-difficulty content.

Of course, there should be quite a few other builds that are comfortable to play, at least at Torment 12 difficulty. But overall, the build landscape for Spiritborn hasn't changed much compared to last season - the order of strength and weakness remains largely the same, only the overall stats have been adjusted.

No.4 Sorcerer

Sorcerer was incredibly dominant in Diablo 4 Season 13 - the build combining Ball Lightning with Crackling Energy and Unstable Currents practically ruled the entire season, making it the undisputed strongest build of the season.

However, on 3.1.0 PTR, this build, which could clear Tier 150 in 2.5 minutes on the live server, has fallen to barely reaching the mid-tier of Tier 130. Even so, Ball Lightning will probably remain the first choice for Sorcerer players in most situations.

As for builds suitable for Pit and Tower runs, the most likely are Firewall-centric sustained burn damage builds. Firewall excels at stacking damage over a long period against relatively stationary enemies—performing excellently in Pit and Tower runs, but performing poorly in other content requiring frequent movement and quick clearing.

No.3 Rogue

Rogue is perhaps the most surprising addition to this list - it's the only class on PTR capable of clearing Tier 150. Specifically, Rogue can drop and equip polearms, specifically in some additional hidden weapon slot - essentially allowing a fourth weapon, making Rogue ridiculously strong on the PTR.

If this bug is fixed before the official release and there are no other major changes, the strongest build in Rogue will likely revert to the poison damage build centered around Penetrating Shot.

No.2 Druid

Druid is a big surprise this time, boasting several seemingly powerful builds. First is Shred Druid - a classic build that uses high-speed jumps to leap from one enemy to the next, dealing massive damage. This was one of the first truly fast-farming builds created by early Diablo 4 players. Due to the buff to Storm Shepherd, the Shred build gains even higher damage bonuses, and some players have already used this build to clear Tower Tier 135.

Second is Tornado Stormwolf Druid, which also performs well in the mid-130 range. These two builds were top choices for Druid in Season 13, but their strength will be further enhanced in Season 14.

No.1 Barbarian

Finally, the strongest class in Season 14 is Barbarian. It's the only class that, without any obvious bugs, can still clear Tier 140 on PTR.

Specifically, the strongest is the Call of the Ancients build - constantly pressing all skill buttons to continuously summon ancestors, letting them handle all the damage output. Closely following is Whirlwind.

Call of the Ancients is likely the best choice for pushing higher tiers, but Whirlwind's strength is still enough for most Barbarians to choose it for daily battles.

Furthermore, if built around Signet of Pelghain, Whirlwind performs quite well for pushing higher tiers in Pit and Tower, and this mechanic doesn't seem to have been nerfed in Season 14.

The diversity of Barbarian builds in Season 14 is also impressive - besides Call of the Ancients and Whirlwind, builds like Rend and Leap have become fully viable after the Mythic items rework.

The above is a ranking of the strength of all classes in Diablo 4 Season 14 and their strongest builds, based on all the information currently available. Although there may be some changes after the official release, it is still worth referencing.
