Helldivers 2 Plans To Fix Known Issues: Galactic War Imbalance, Bugs, And Content Delays
Helldivers 2 CEO Shams Jorjani responded to questions that players have been asking recently, including game content expansion and the timeline for known bug fixes. This article analyzes some key events to help you understand the game's plans for the near future.
Recently, CEO Shams Jorjani responded to some issues regarding Helldivers 2 and shared plans for the game's future.
There were many topics discussed, so I've compiled some that might be of interest to help you plan your future gaming. Let's take a look.
Helldivers: Galactic War Update
The current situation in Galactic War is not ideal, with the overall situation quite chaotic. This is mainly reflected in two aspects:
First, the player distribution is unbalanced. We all know that Galactic War allows players to choose their faction, but currently, there are more players choosing Terminids, while relatively fewer choose Automatons, which is detrimental to game balance.
Second, the release cycle of Major Orders is a bit long. Currently, in Galactic War, Illuminate poses an increasing threat to Super Earth, and we all urgently hope to emerge from the darkness as soon as possible. Therefore, we hope the release of Major Orders can be accelerated.
If Helldivers 2 can address these two issues, I think Galactic War might attract even more players.
Regular Content Issues
Shams also mentioned the upcoming release of Regular Content. This is exciting news, meaning more game content will be released, potentially enriching the gameplay and increasing the number of Helldivers 2 Items available.
However, this may take some time to materialize, as Jorjani stated there are no release plans yet. Currently, it seems there won't be much new content for Helldivers 2 this month. Hopefully, there will be new content next month.
Enemy Wall-Penetrating Issue
You may have encountered this bug in the game; the sudden appearance of enemies is truly unexpected. We all hope it can be fixed soon.
Unfortunately, Shams stated that this isn't an easy task, as enemy wall-penetration is related to the level generation mechanics. Simply fixing some map elements to adjust the levels won't completely eliminate the problem.
However, there's no need to be completely pessimistic. Shams is certain that the bug of enemies passing through walls will be fixed in the future. The random map generation method in Helldivers 2 means that fixing this bug will take a considerable amount of time; please be patient.
In the meantime, you'll still need to be vigilant in the game against enemies attempting to pass through walls, or pay attention to maps where this often occurs and take precautions in advance.
Blue Stratagems Issue
This is actually a long-standing issue. When using Blue Stratagems, they may not accurately hit the desired location, easily delaying your attacks and causing frustration.
It has long been listed as a known issue to be resolved, but it remains unresolved. This time, the issue has resurfaced, and Jorjani still hasn't given a precise timeline for a solution, only stating that they are still researching ways to address it.
Cross-Platform Progression Update
This is a long-term planned event for Helldivers 2. While we all eagerly await the release of the cross-platform progression update feature... Shams stated that this is impossible in the short term, as Helldivers 2 has many priorities, and cross-progression updates are not simple projects.
Large Patch Size Issue
The recent Helldivers 2 patch 4.1.1 update, while not extensive (and normally the downloaded file size is small), has resulted in some players reporting extremely large files, some reaching as high as 23GB, which is puzzling.
This has led to speculation that this foreshadows a large influx of new content. Otherwise, the large installation size is difficult to explain.
Unfortunately, Shams has explicitly stated that no new content will be released in the near future, suggesting the unusually large installation size might simply be a bug.
Helldivers 2 Movie
Sony announced a long time ago that they would be adapting Helldivers 2 into a movie, and according to previous predictions, the movie version is expected to be released soon. However, a fan-made trailer for Helldivers 2 movie has recently surfaced, and its high quality is a pleasant surprise.
Before Sony's adaptation of Helldivers 2 is released, we can certainly look forward to this fan-made Helldivers 2 movie, which will be released on November 28th.
Based on Shams Jorjani's response and the recently released Helldivers 2 patch 4.1.1 update, it's clear that Helldivers 2's primary focus is currently on fixing existing bugs and crashes, while the new content we're hoping for is still largely in the planning stages.
In short, I hope this process can be accelerated a bit, because you, like me, are looking forward to playing an even better game, aren't you?
