This Build Obliterates Appropriators - Ultimate Helldivers 2 Loadout Meta Guide

Struggling against Illuminate's new Gatekeeper and Obtruder swarms in Helldivers 2? This comprehensive Eruptor and MG-43 loadout provides overwhelming explosive crowd control and heavy armor penetration, ensuring consistent dominance whether you're dropping solo or with a full squad.

In Helldivers 2, Appropriators were first discovered on Seasse, where they established Exospires.

Appropriators consist entirely of Illuminates and their machinery, including Gatekeeper, Obtruder, and Veracitor. This Build Obliterates Appropriators - Ultimate Helldivers 2 Loadout Meta Guide

If you've been struggling with Illuminate's machinery, Obtruders, and Overseers, this build will give you comprehensive coverage of all enemy types and maintain consistent performance in both solo and team modes.

Primary Weapon

Eruptor (Preferred)

Your first choice should definitely be Eruptor. This weapon will help you easily defeat Appropriators, and I believe it's one of the best primary weapons in the game right now.

Eruptor is my favorite primary weapon in this build because it allows you to easily handle groups of enemies, deals considerable damage to the new Max enemies, and is even quite effective against large targets like Harvesters.

It's very effective against Obtruders. Obtruders typically appear in swarms. While not the most dangerous enemies individually, they become extremely troublesome when mixed in with other enemies. Eruptor can easily solve this sub-faction's swarm problem; its explosive damage is extremely high, capable of wiping out large groups with a single shot.

Eruptor's uses extend beyond clearing out weaker enemies. It can handle almost all the faction's major threats and is very effective against newer Maxes like Gatekeeper and Veracitor. If their shields are breached first, Eruptor can usually kill the pilot with just one or two shots, which is incredibly powerful.

Even in chaotic situations where finding the optimal firing angle is difficult, Eruptor's damage is still enough to allow you to force your way through by attacking weak points such as the body or joints. Its damage is extremely high, and because of its powerful penetration and explosive damage, it can inflict considerable damage on targets that many other primary weapons struggle with. It's even quite effective against Harvesters.

The advantage of this weapon is that, being a bolt-action rifle, the increase in vertical recoil has little impact. Its drawbacks are a slower rate of fire and potentially less-than-ideal grip. Therefore, for attachments, you'll need iron sights to improve handling and an Angled Foregrip mounted below the barrel. This will significantly improve the weapon's feel.

Coyote (Second Choice)

If you don't have Eruptor, or simply want something different, more direct, and stable, Coyote is the best choice. It boasts moderate armor penetration and is equipped with incendiary rounds, allowing you to easily handle many of Illuminate's attacks.

While its power isn't as high as Eruptor, it still performs well against most Illuminate enemies. Especially in one-on-one situations, Coyote is very reliable against Max, effectively weakening their shields. While its rate of fire might not be the fastest, once the shield is broken, it can effectively kill the pilot. It also pairs well with machine guns or heavy machine guns, which are the primary damage dealers.

Secondary Weapons

P-92 Warrant (Preferred)

P-92 Warrant is currently one of the best choices against Appropriators sub-faction. The main reason is its auto-aiming function. This function is very effective for Illuminate, especially against Appropriators sub-faction.

Because enemies fly in large numbers, and mech pilots are sometimes difficult to hit, with Warrant, you can essentially lock onto and eliminate enemies directly. Therefore, Warrant allows you to easily switch weapons to take down flying Overseers.

Warrant is also surprisingly effective against MAX. If you break through the shields first, Warrant can lock onto the pilots well, helping you quickly eliminate them. It also pairs very well with Eruptor. Many secondary weapons are only used when needed, but with Warrant, you'll find yourself switching to and using it frequently. It allows for faster and more convenient use, avoiding Eruptor's poor handling or slow rate of fire.

Ultimatum (Secondary Choice)

As an alternative, Ultimatum is a very good choice. This weapon is more geared towards support rather than your primary weapon, but it can be incredibly helpful when you need it.

If you're getting into trouble and need to deal massive damage, Ultimatum can help. If a group of MAXs is closing in, or Harvesters are too close, a single accurate shot after breaking their shields can deal huge damage and eliminate them instantly. It's definitely the kind of weapon that can get you out of trouble instantly.

It's also an excellent choice for destroying Encampments because you don't need to break their shields first. However, Warrant works better with other gear in this setup. If you don't have P-92 Warrant, you can obtain it using Helldivers 2 Super Credits.

Grenade

Gas grenade (preferred)

Gas grenades are definitely the top choice for countering Appropriators sub-faction. The main reason is their excellent crowd control performance. In Appropriators' camp, there's usually more than one threatening enemy, making it easy to get surrounded.

When Obtruders, Maxes, and Overseers are flying around, you can throw Gas Grenades in front of you or into narrow passages. This almost instantly slows down their advance. The enemies will stop attacking and become disorganized, giving you more space to create distance and restart the fight so you can pick them off one by one.

Furthermore, it deals continuous damage and is effective against almost all enemies, including Maxes. So even if the damage isn't high, it will continuously weaken the enemy.

Thermites (Second Choice)

Thermites are suitable for dealing with Warships in encampments. Attach the grenades to the side of the ship; you don't even need to break the shields. They also work well against Maxes and Harvesters. If thrown correctly, they can deal considerable damage.

The only drawback is that you must be close to the target to use them, and Appropriators' ships aren't always close enough. Therefore, Gas remains the most reliable option.

Support Weapons

MG Machine Gun (Preferred)

While MG machine gun may not be the fastest firing rate compared to weapons like Heavy Machine Gun, it is undeniably effective and boasts a wide fire range. This is precisely why this weapon is so powerful. It is essentially the primary weapon of the entire setup, handling the majority of combat tasks.

If you increase its rate of fire, it can penetrate shields very effectively. Once the shield is broken, you can easily eliminate the pilot. Its output is very consistent; if a wave of enemies approaches, you can either unleash a direct assault or use burst fire to quickly eliminate them.

It can handle almost any situation. It easily deals with small enemies, Overseers, high-level enemies, and even Reapers. If you aim at joints with only medium armor, this machine gun can destroy them.

And when you pair it with Eruptor, this setup truly shines. The machine gun penetrates shields and deals continuous damage, while Eruptor can eliminate the pilot in one or two shots. This combination is powerful and extremely stable.

Heavy Machine Gun (Second Choice)

Its biggest advantage lies in its powerful armor-piercing capability. Especially against heavy enemies, if you increase your rate of fire, it can very effectively break through shields. Once the shield is broken, the damage it inflicts on the pilot is even higher than that of a regular machine gun. Furthermore, because of its powerful armor-piercing ability, you can easily break through enemy lines with brute force.

Heavy Machine Gun is slightly better against MAX and Harvesters. If you aim for their joints or weak points, Heavy Machine Gun will be very effective. Even if you don't hit a vital point precisely, but only hit the body, you will still inflict damage.

However, the biggest drawback of Heavy Machine Gun is its poor handling; it's far less fluid to use than a primary weapon. While this can be improved by crouching, prone, or using certain armor passives, it's still difficult to control.

Another drawback is its ammunition economy. It has fewer spare rounds and runs out of ammunition more easily. Therefore, you can't use it as your primary weapon throughout the entire game like you would a machine gun.

This is why Heavy Machine Gun works better with Coyote, while MG machine gun is better paired with weapons like Eruptor, where the machine gun provides the main firepower and Eruptor finishes off weakened enemies. Both are sound choices, depending on your preferred equipment setup.

Stratagem

Guard Dog provides a significant amount of additional firepower. It efficiently eliminates Obtruders, freeing you from focusing on them during combat. It also weakens Overseers, relieving some pressure. Surprisingly, it's also effective against MAXs, helping to weaken enemy shields and making them easier to kill.

Machine Gun Sentry is a perfect fit for this setup. Its function is essentially the same as the machine gun and Guard Dog, but with greater firepower. One of its biggest advantages is its extremely short cooldown; with proper positioning, you can keep it active almost throughout the entire mission. You can consistently benefit from it, as it adds more consistent damage output to your setup.

Eagle 500kg Bomb remains a powerful choice. It's very versatile. You can use it to deal with hordes of enemies and clear camps. It can be used twice before going on cooldown.

Orbital Gatling Barrage is also a powerful option. Its short cooldown makes it ideal for dealing with groups of enemies, patrols, and even stronger targets. You can get high usage and consistent benefits throughout the mission.

Therefore, you can choose any Strataegam according to your preference, but I recommend using at least one red Strataegam in this configuration to complete your tactical system and add some extra firepower.

Armor - B-24 Enforcer

B-24 Enforcer's enhanced passive skill helps reduce your weapon's recoil when crouching or prone, making your weapon easier to control. It also provides 50% blast damage resistance. This is very important against Appropriators, as they deal significant blast damage.

Another advantage of this armor is its stats. It's classified as medium armor, but its armor value is higher than normal armor, reaching around 129 instead of the usual 100. Therefore, you gain both a certain level of survivability and a speed greater than heavy armor.

If you're looking for a top-tier setup capable of handling all Appropriators' attacks, this is definitely one of the strongest available. Hopefully, this setup will be helpful.
