Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40,000 Castellan's Creed Warbond: R/40-K Rifle, Meltagun, Bolt Pistol, and More

The next Warbond in Helldivers 2 will be a crossover with Warhammer 40,000, named Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond. This Warbond brings players four new weapons, two new armor sets, and other rewards.

Recently, Helldivers 2 released details about its next Warbond – a collaboration with Warhammer 40,000 named Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond, scheduled for release on August 12th.

This collaboration focuses on the elite Astra Militarum unit – Cadian Kasrkin – from Warhammer 40,000 lore, rather than the game's most iconic Space Marines. This choice is likely to align with the gameplay tone of Helldivers 2.

The collaboration Warbond brings many new weapons and unique rewards that shouldn't be missed.

New Weapons

Helldivers 2's Castellan's Creed Warbond includes four weapons: three different types of guns and one throwable item, offering a very comprehensive selection.

R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle

First up is R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, a mid-to-long-range precision rifle that uses las-energy ammunition.

It features a black paint job with badges on the sides, giving it a futuristic and tactical look. Notably, it fires a pale yellow laser, not the traditional red one.

This design is based on official Game Workshop specifications - back in 2024, Warhammer 40,000 development team stated that the game's Hot-Shot Lasgun would fire a pale yellow or white laser.

The official description states: Deadly at close range, even more deadly at long range. This indicates it's a weapon suitable for long-range sniping.

However, according to player predictions, Rifle's rate of fire might be relatively slow, even slower than the existing R-6 Deadeye in Helldivers 2. If its rate of fire is indeed low, then its damage output will need to be sufficiently high to compensate for this weakness.

G/40-K Meltamine

G/40-K Meltamine is a proximity-activated mine that detonates upon contact with an enemy.

According to a demo video released by the developer, it can instantly destroy a Hulk. In Helldivers 2, a Hulk has approximately 1,800 health points, suggesting the mine deals at least 1,800 damage. Players speculate that it is also effective against heavy enemies like Impalers and Fleshmobs.

However, in the video, a small enemy appears to step on or near the mine, but it does not explode.

This could mean the mine has a very small trigger radius, detonating only at extremely close range; or that it is designed as an anti-tank mine, only triggering upon contact with heavy units.

Furthermore, according to the developer's description of G/40-K Meltamine, it may also explode upon contact with a player. Players should be aware of this when using it.

40-K Meltagun

40-K Meltagun is a short-range anti-armor support weapon, belonging to Strataema class, and occupies a support weapon slot.

This is a meltgun that fires a short-range, ultra-high-heat beam. It has high attack power but a very short range - according to player speculation, it's only about 5 to 8 meters.

This range setting is clearly designed to match the characteristics of the meltgun in Warhammer 40,000 - ultra-short range, extreme burst damage, rather than a long-range sniping tool.

P/40-K Bolt Pistol

The last weapon in Helldivers 2 Castellan's Creed Warbond is P/40-K Bolt Pistol, a secondary weapon capable of firing a self-propelled explosive warhead that penetrates the enemy upon impact and detonates the bullet.

The official description states that it "has stood the test of time, renowned for its versatility and raw stopping power, making even the most resilient enemies tremble before it", suggesting it may possess strong armor penetration capabilities.

The player community hopes this gun will have heavy armor penetration capabilities to compete with the game's existing powerful secondary weapon, Senator revolver, providing players with more options.

If you're interested in the above weapons, you'll need to prepare enough Helldivers 2 Super Credits to earn the rewards in this Warbond event.

New Armor and New Passive Abilities

In addition to the aforementioned weapons, this Warbond event also includes two brand-new armor sets - TG-122 Demo-Trooper and TG-8 Sharpshooter, both with a strong Warhammer 40,000 style.

TG-122 Demo-Trooper is a heavy armor set, offering higher armor values but slower movement speed, suitable for frontal assaults; TG-8 Sharpshooter is a medium armor set, providing more balanced mobility and protection, suitable for flexible tactical play.

In terms of appearance, TG-122 is entirely black, as if covered in black metal, giving it a heavy and powerful look; TG-8 is entirely green, appearing lighter and more in line with its medium-sized armor designation.

Helldivers 2 Castellan's Creed Warbond also introduces an exclusive new passive skill - True Grit. Both of the aforementioned armor sets have this passive skill effect, which has two specific effects:

First, +20 Weapon Handling. This makes the player's gun-raising, turning, and aiming actions more agile;

Second, +30% Reload Speed for Support Weapons. This effect is the most crucial, applying to all heavy weapons summoned through strategic deployment.

In fact, in Warhammer 40,000 lore, weapons such as Bomb Pistol and Meltgun were originally designed for genetically modified Space Marines or elite Stormtroopers; ordinary people would face significant recoil and overheating issues when using them.

Elite mortal troops need countless real-world training sessions to master these weapons through experience and muscle memory. This courage is known as True Grit, which is also the source of this passive skill.

The above is a summary of the main content of Helldivers 2 collaboration Warbond - Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond - expected to launch on August 12th, in collaboration with Warhammer 40,000.

Of course, this Warbond also includes other rewards, such as new Player Banners, new capes, and a new Player Title. If you're interested in this collaboration, don't miss it.
